Praying we can all follow the Rules and avoid another COVID19 Lock Down

I really hope we can avoid another lock down but, if not, I think it is time to learn more and embrace the internet for new, even virtual experiences. If you are interested in mountains or adventure or simply the Nepalese culture, why not help me in developing a ‘Nepalese Experience’ on our web-site where you can already exchange comments or information, learn about events, watch a video and play some Nepalese music all in the knowledge that we are protected by the General Data Protection Regulations (and our evolving privacy policy), better than ever before. Of course, we will never be 100% protected but we can all work together to preserve the domain and move forward into our digital future without fear. Nepal opened its borders again on 17 October 2020, in the hope of recovering some of the financial and human loss (847 deaths out of 1.15 million worldwide (0.0737%) to 22.10.2020). If you are not about to go why not at least join us on: aln-luxembourg-nepal.org – see you there.

Returning to Nepal in Covid 19 times:

On 17 October 2020 Nepal again allowed Mountaineers & Trekkers to enter Nepal so Climbers can again attempt Mount Everest :

If you’ve been following the regular COVID-19 updates from Nepal you would have known this was on the cards. it did, however, take until the 16th of October 2020 for an official announcement to be made … Yes, they literally left it to the last day.

See our Media and Recommended Reading – Press & Reading page for the details and restrictions including one week of confinement in a hotel before being able to start your trek: https://aln-luxembourg-nepal.org/presse/

(This is, of course, much better than the prospects of travel to Australia for example where the Tourism Minister, has warned, some time ago, that the country’s borders are likely to remain shut until 2021, with even stronger & more stringent confinement rules – the same applies to Australian citizens who want to leave their country!).

Anyhow, COVID free Climbers can now go to Nepal again but let’s hope there is not a fast return to this (click below for a video link). Especially as this news is in stark contrast to the people calling for further lock-down in Europe & Luxembourg!! – Whichever it is let’s not go there, think and do other things such as aln-luxembourg-nepal.org 🙂 !
